Automatically Clip Your Best CS2 Moments

Local AI desktop app that reads your Counter-Strike 2 killfeed, spots the red border CS2 draws around your own kills, and cuts every ace, multikill and clutch into a ready-to-post 9:16 clip. Optional .dem demo file support for millisecond-accurate kill timing. No upload, no subscription, $49 once.

How the CS2 Detector Works

Most cloud clippers just look at audio and motion. That misses half of what makes a CS2 round highlight-worthy — the killfeed at the top-right tells the whole story, and the tool that reads it is the one that gets the ace clips right.

1. Visual killfeed detection (default, always on)

Every second of the VOD, the CS2 mode crops the top-right killfeed region and runs two passes:

Sanity guards on top: CS2 shows at most 5 simultaneous killfeed entries, so any reading above 5 is treated as noise. A jump of more than 3 new kills between two 2-second samples is also implausible and rejected.

2. Optional .dem demo file (ground truth)

If you drop the matching demo file (.dem) alongside your recording, the app parses it with demoparser2 and reads every kill event straight from Valve's own game log — killer name, victim, weapon, tick timestamp. That gives frame-accurate kill timings without depending on OCR at all. Auto-aligns to the VOD timeline using the visual detector as a sync signal.

3. Audio + motion + Whisper as tiebreakers

The killfeed says when. Audio peaks (gunshots, kill-confirm chimes), motion spikes, and Whisper-transcribed callouts ("nice", "clutch", "let's go", "gg", "ace", "headshot") score how important each kill was. Clips end up centred on the moments that stood out both on your screen and in your voice.

Every CS2 Format, One Tool

The same detector works across every CS2 mode because they all use the same HUD. Different formats just cluster differently:

🏆

Premier / Competitive 5v5

Full 12-round halves. Ace Export exports each 4K or 5K round as a single complete clip in addition to the standard top-N — so a slow-paced ace comes out as one round, not five separate cuts.

🎯

FACEIT / ESEA VODs

Same killfeed layout as vanilla CS2. Anti-cheat clients and FACEIT overlays don't touch the killfeed region, so detection quality is unchanged.

🔫

Deathmatch / Warmup

High kill density, short rounds. Good stress-test for the detector — hundreds of your kills in one VOD, cut into individual "one-tap" clips.

⏱️

Wingman 2v2

Shorter rounds, faster kill cycles. Score threshold auto-adapts so clutches on short-format rounds still get picked up.

🛠️

Custom / Scrim VODs

Any CS2 recording with the standard HUD works. Custom skins, weapon inspects and grenade lineups don't fool the killfeed detector.

Post-match demo review

Point the app at your CSGO/CS2 demo (.dem) and it'll pull kill events without needing a VOD at all — useful when you forgot to record.

From a 3-Hour Session to 15 Clips

A typical Premier grind or FACEIT queue produces 3–5 hours of raw footage. The CS2 mode is designed to compress that into a folder of standalone 9:16 clips you can upload as-is:

Long .mp4 VOD3 hours, 40+ GB
Killfeed OCR passEvery 2 sec, sub-second refinement
Kill events scoredAudio + motion + Whisper
Vertical 9:16 clips12–35s each, ready to post

Ace Export runs as a separate pass and writes 4K / ACE rounds as a single complete clip into an aces/ subfolder, so you can post them intact.

Why Local Matters for CS2

A 3-hour CS2 VOD is huge

1440p60 CS2 recordings run 12–15 GB per hour. On a typical 20 Mbps home upload, a 3-hour session is ~90 minutes uploading before any cloud AI even starts analysing. Local processing starts immediately.

Demo files never touch the cloud

Cloud clippers only see the video. The .dem file — which is where the accurate kill timing lives — sits on your disk and isn't part of the upload. Reading both together locally is what makes ace timing precise.

No monthly quota on your own footage

One $49 payment. Process as many hours as you want. If you queue a 20-hour weekend grind, it processes 20 hours' worth. There's no per-minute credit system.

Quick Setup — From Install to First Ace Clip

  1. Install Gaming Clipper AI. Windows 10/11, ~1.4 GB installer.
  2. Record your CS2 session. Use whatever recorder you already have — NVIDIA ShadowPlay (instant replay works), OBS, AMD ReLive. Any standard .mp4 / .mkv container works.
  3. Optional: save the .dem file. On the CS2 main menu → Watch → Your Matches → Download the demo you want to clip. Point the app at it later for exact kill timing.
  4. Open the Highlights tab. Drag in the .mp4. Game: Counter-Strike 2. Layout: Vertical Crop (9:16) or Hybrid.
  5. Optional: enable Ace Export. CS2 options → Ace Export ✓. Optional: point to a .dem file for ground-truth timing.
  6. Hit Start. Clips land in the output folder as clip_01_167s-198s.mp4-style filenames, plus an aces/ subfolder for full-round 4K / ACE cuts.

💡 Not enough kills in your VOD? Drop the sensitivity slider and the app will find more borderline moments (single kills with big audio reactions). Too many junk clips? Raise it. On v1.1+, the Clip Cutter tab is also there for hand-picking one specific round with a scrubbable preview.

Common Questions

Does it work without a .dem demo file?
Yes — the default detector is 100% visual (killfeed OCR + red-border finder) and gets aces right the vast majority of the time. The demo file is optional and, when present, gives frame-accurate ground-truth kill timing straight from Valve's game log.
Can it detect aces automatically without any manual tagging?
Yes. Runs of 4 or 5 player kills clustered within one round are automatically labelled 4K / ACE and (with Ace Export enabled) exported as a single complete round clip in addition to your standard top-N highlights.
What about 1440p or 4K recordings?
Fully supported. The killfeed region is defined as a percentage of the frame (top-right 25% width, top 40% height), so it scales with any resolution. Detection is actually slightly more accurate at 1440p and 4K because the killfeed text is sharper for the OCR pass.
Does it read the FACEIT / ESEA killfeed too?
Yes — both use the standard CS2 killfeed HUD unchanged. Anti-cheat clients and match overlays don't cover the killfeed region, so the detector works identically.
Will it flag other players' kills as mine?
No. The red border CS2 draws around a killfeed row only shows up when you are the killer. That's the exact signal the detector locks onto. Teammate kills, opponent kills, and enemy multi-kills don't get scored as yours.
What output format do the clips come out as?
1080×1920 vertical 9:16 MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio). Two layout options: full vertical center-crop, or hybrid with gameplay on top and a caption bar below for burned-in subtitles. GPU-accelerated with NVIDIA NVENC, CPU fallback via libx264 automatically.
Can I add impact overlays like "ACE" or "ELIMINATED" to the clips?
Yes. Toggle "Burn Overlays" in the Highlights tab. Five styles ship built-in: Comic Book (POW / BANG bursts), Esports HUD (ELIMINATED / ACE / CLUTCH banners), Anime Impact, Cyberpunk Glitch, and Minimalist. Overlays are placed at the actual kill moments, not at random audio peaks.
Will my CS2 recordings be uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs locally on your PC. The .mp4, the optional .dem file, and every intermediate never leave your machine. There is no cloud pipeline and no telemetry on the gameplay data.
